Me and My Mentor

This Exercise is called "Dips" and it mainly works on the tricep muscles and some of the chest.

This Exercise is mainly working on the bicep muscles and its basically doing pull-ups but using a different grip which allows only your biceps to be used in the workout. ( In here i am working out with my mentor and he taught me this type of pull up and also lots of other pull ups )

Blog 5 Project Reflection and Working EQ

1) Positive Statement: What positive thing happened as a result of what you have completed so far?

After working out for some time already I have seen some improvement in muscle mass. I believe I encouraged many people to start working out. I'm not bragging here or anything but Ive talked to a lot of people so far and they all want to start working out. So far I have introduced many workouts for friends and I actually have brought one of my friends to the gym recently. (Daniel Song) #24hourfitness #club

 (2) EQ Content:  Pick a piece of research or your interview.  How has it helped you improve your understanding of your topic?

I have been reading a book called "BodyBuilding Revealed" by Will Brink and I have learned lots of stuff. I learned about the best meals to eat after a workout ( which are high in protein ). The different types of workouts and what muscle does it workout. Things to avoid when working out like holding your breathe while lifting heavy weights. I also learned That when lifting heavy weight, good form is key to success in muscle mass increase. But when you have bad form, then this is where injury can occur and ruin your lifting progress.

(3) What has worked for you so far in the senior project?

Doing so much research and reading books on my topic has helped me gain knowledge on not just the physical aspect but the science part of bodybuilding. I probably know more things about bodybuilding then most people in the gym now. But Im not going to be cocky about it, like if I see someone doing something wrong I will try my best in helping them. Or if someone needs help like being spotted when lifting heavy weight, i will then volunteer. I hope to be a personal trainer one day so i can give back and help others in need.

(4) What hasn't worked so far?

To be honest, the only thing that im not doing in my part to increase my chances in muscle mass growth is food problems. I either dont eat healthy enough food or I sometimes dont eat in the morning after the gym and wait till i get home until 2 pm. But i drink my protein shake every time after the gym. So if i had enough money i would buy enough healthy food and have food to take to school during passing period.

(5) Finding Value:
  •  What is a potential question you would like to study this year?  (working EQ)
What factors are most important to consider when becoming a fit bodybuilder?
  •  What do you plan to do for mentorship?  If you haven't found a mentor yet, then discuss where you are currently looking and who you are talking to to find it.
I plan to do my mentorship with my cousin and his friend who are both personal trainers. But my cousins friend (Eric Bugarin) owns a gym called Spartan Fitness near la puente. They both have come a long way so i look up to them both and plan to be committed to bodybuilding. So my goal is to not only gain muscle but also help others who want to see results. I want to help others find there goals and achieve them. To me there is nothing better to do but work out every time. Its an addiction that I wont ever give up. #projectbulk #itsabodybuilder #thing @spartanfitness_OTD follow on instagram
